Back in 1993, founder Ron Giesbrecht took what he knew from growing up on a sunflower farm in southern Manitoba and turned it into something bigger. He’d seen the difference quality made in the field, and he knew there was a kernel of truth missing on store shelves: the seeds just weren’t cutting it.
So he did something about it.
Ronnie’s Original JUMBO Seeds were built to stand out—bigger, better, and roasted the way they should be. Not rushed. Not overlooked. Just done right.
Because when it comes to snacking, size matters. (We said it.)
That idea grew into what we’re known for today:
More Snack’n, Less Crack’n.

From day one, we’ve been serious about quality—even if we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We carefully source our sunflower seeds and peanuts, roast them to perfection, and make sure every bag delivers the same great experience.
No shortcuts. No half-baked batches.
Just Solid snacks that show up when it counts.
And while we’re proud of the product, what really matters is where it ends up—road trips, ball games, fishing trips, job sites, backyards, and everywhere in between. The kind of moments where the bag’s open, the shells are flying, and nobody’s worried about making a mess.

We’re Canadian to the core, built on hard work, straight shooting, and doing things properly the first time.
So whether you’ve been snackin’ with us for years or you’re just getting started—
go ahead, grab a bag.
We’ll keep the seeds coming. You keep snack'n & crack'n.
1993
Ronnie’s Seeds started in a family living room back in 1993. It started with one idea, a lot of conversation, and a willingness to try something different.
The Plan
At the time, there were no local sunflower seed roasting providers and the available seeds were more shell than seed. Our vision was to provide our community with JUMBO seeds that seriously taste great!
1994
By 1994, the first bag of Ronnie’s Original Jumbo Roasted Sunflower Seeds was made and we’ve been cracking shells ever since.
2001
We started our own distribution in MB by putting two full-time trucks on the road.
2002
We built a new facility to accommodate the growth as well as expanding our product offering to include salted and unsalted inshell peanuts.
2005
We built another facility that would more than double our previous square footage as well as allow for the second packaging line to be installed.
Present-Day
We've been keeping our hand to the plow and slowly adding new and innovative flavours to our product availability. Slowly but surely we have been expanding across western Canada and bringing more seeds to our loyal fans.
